Two-Vehicle Crash on Hwy 6 Injures Multiple People

Four individuals were taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle collision on Highway 6 early Tuesday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the crash occurred when a Toyota Camry traveling eastbound on Hwy 6 crossed the center median and collided with a westbound Honda Accord at approximately 6:00 a.m.

Both vehicles sustained significant damage and came to a rest on the shoulder of the highway.

The CHP is investigating the cause of the crash and has not yet released any further information.

All four occupants of the vehicles were transported to local hospitals with injuries ranging from minor to moderate.

The eastbound lanes of Hwy 6 were closed for several hours while emergency responders cleared the scene of the accident.

The California Highway Patrol reminds drivers to be cautious while driving and to obey all traffic laws.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), there were over 39,000 fatal crashes in the United States in 2020.

Of those crashes, over 15,000 were caused by distracted driving.

The CHP urges drivers to put away their phones and other distractions while driving.

Distracted driving is a major cause of accidents and can be just as dangerous as driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

If you are caught driving distracted, you could face fines, points on your license, or even jail time.

Please drive safely and help keep our roads safe.
