Borussia Dortmund Draws 1-1 with Bayer Leverkusen in Bundesliga Thriller

Unbeaten Run Continues as Dortmund Extends Gap

Intense Match Ends in Points Shared

Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen played out an entertaining 1-1 draw in the Bundesliga on Saturday, with both teams extending their unbeaten runs.

Dortmund took an early lead through Julian Brandt's stunning free kick, but Leverkusen fought back and equalized through Patrik Schick's second-half penalty.

The result leaves Dortmund in second place in the Bundesliga, four points behind leaders Bayern Munich, while Leverkusen remain in fifth.

Dortmund had the better of the chances in the first half and deservedly took the lead when Brandt curled a free kick into the top corner from the edge of the area.

Leverkusen improved after the break and came close to equalizing through Moussa Diaby, but his shot was well saved by Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel.

The visitors eventually got their equalizer when Schick converted a penalty after he was fouled by Dortmund defender Mats Hummels.

Both teams had chances to win the game in the closing stages, but neither could find a winning goal.

The draw extends Dortmund's unbeaten run to 10 matches in all competitions, while Leverkusen have now gone seven games without defeat.
